Let’s Redefine Dyslexia

Did you know people with Dyslexia have so many strong abilities?

We can use new words to describe someone with Dyslexia. I have put my favorites below.

Ambitious

We want to succeed! Many times people think that we may be giving up because we can’t read something easily. We become ambitious in finding ways to read. Like using a ruler to help stay on the right line or using audiobooks to help us read.

Imaginative

We are imaginative! We are always trying to find a creative way to accomplish the task at hand. Sometimes we can imagine the story visually to help us comprehend the content. Our increased imagination helps us to be great visual learners.

Creative

We change our “disadvantage” into our strength and find different and creative ways to problem solve and overcome difficulties. The same reason a dyslexic’s brain processes a <b> as a <d> by looking at the shape from all angles allows amazing artistic abilities
